I met Dean last year, randomly, at a King Diamond & Exodus concert in Hollywood; he was a friend of a friend of a friend... or
something like that. He gave me his card, which I initially took with a grain of salt. I can't count the number of cards I've been handed by assorted people claiming to be this n' that, especially in
Hollywood. I admit, I'm nosy. I wanted to know what's up, so I checked out his links. I was more than surprised what I saw/heard-- Dean was one funny sumbitch, and he has one of the coolest podcasts
around, Let There Be Talk. I've heard everyone from Chuck Billy of Testament, to Yngwie Malmsteen, to freakin' Margaret Cho on his show. I am pleased to say that I am a faithful listener! His
Periscope account is also loads of fun, as he's constantly broadcasting from plenty of places that don't suck-- like HiFi stores, concerts, etc. Additionally, he showcases records from his vast
collection on a daily basis.
I recently found myself back in Hollywood, looking for something to do, when I saw that Dean was having a show at The Comedy Store, featuring an assortment of comics. Sounded like a good time to me! Indeed, it was. My man Eddie and I laughed until our faces cracked from smiling so much. We are permanently disfigured now, but it was well worth it. Thanks, Dean and friends for the good time.
Tayva cannot resist a good neon sign.
Yes, indeed, I have been rendered assless.
